Welcome to the TransGuide website. TransGuide, an Intelligent Transportation System was designed by the San Antonio District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This "smart highway" project provides information to motorists about traffic conditions, such as accidents, congestion and construction. With the use of cameras, message signs and fiber optics, TransGuide can detect travel times and provide that information to motorists not only with the message signs on the highways, but also with the use of the Internet and a Low-Power Television Station. TransGuide rapidly responds to accidents and emergencies.
